Equipment

I've been shooting with Nikon cameras since 1980. My first SLR was a Nikon EM and a 50mm lens.

I used the EM for over 22 years until the sulfuric acid clouds at the volcano ended it's days with me.

My first Dslr's were a Nikon D70 and D70s.

The photos from these cameras are nothing short of spectacular!

As is their durability in one of the harshest climates on Earth.

Now I have a Nikon D200 which is an amazing camera.

My favorite lenses to use are the

Nikon kit lens 18-70mm DX

Nikon 10.5mm 2.8 Fisheye DX

Nikon 180mm 2.8

Nikon 50mm 1.4

Sigma 120-300mm 2.8

Even though the Sigma is quite heavy to carry along on my hikes, it's well worth it!

Manfrotto 3021BN Tripod 488RC2 Ball head

All of this and my accessories are carried in my Mountainsmith Paragon camera backpack.

This pack can hold plenty of extra hiking gear to allow for overnight outings.

*Need some gear tested? My hiking adventures are

brutal and will push most any type of gear to it's limits.

Contact me if you're a manufacturer and would like something tested.

If it's something I'm interested in I'll take your product on a few photographic adventures.
