Hawaii Volcano National Park Safety Video

Falling is the most common cause of injury at the lava flows. Sooner or later everyone falls if you hike there enough or you are new to this type of hiking. I do wear shorts as my legs have numerous scars from years of lava hiking and surfing but, if you want to preserve your legs and you think falling is possible, I suggest wearing long pants. Gloves and a hiking pole too. Don't forget a good hat or sunscreen. It is Hawaii and the sun always seems extra strong out at the lava flows.

!Stay Off Of The New Land!

Don't listen to anyone who tells you its safe
